Travel Boards on Pinterest

If you've been dreaming about a vacation getaway, I've been hard at work pinning some great places for you to visit!

If California is on your list, visit my Destination: California board.
Saguaro Hotel, Palm Beach

Maybe a trip east is more convenient or affordable for you...if so, visit Destination: Florida.
Gulf Islands National Seashore

And my newest board, also on the east coast, Destination: the Carolinas
Morris Island Lighthouse in SC
These boards are a work-in-progress, and I will be updating each regularly.  I'm sure I'll also be adding new destinations in the future!  Have an idea for a travel board?  Let me know!

travel inspiration: Chattanooga, TN

Okay, I confess:  Chattanooga has never been on my list of must-see places.  However, I just returned from there, and it exceeded my expectations!  My husband and I went there to tour the Volkswagen plant (my dad is the local VW dealer), and we didn't have a lot of time to see the city, but I liked what I saw.  If you're looking for a smaller town with lots to do, give Chattanooga a chance!

Location
Nestled beside the Tennessee River, Chattanooga is about a 90 minute drive north from Atlanta, GA.  With the mountains and river, the city is great for those who love the outdoors.

During our one night stay in Chattanooga, we rested at the Chattanoogan Hotel.  Located in the downtown area, the Chattanoogan is rated one of the top hotels in the area.  It also boasts three dining choices.

The top-rated aquarium in the country features two buildings - River Journey and Ocean Journey.  In the River Journey building, guests experience freshwater animals, while the Ocean Journey building houses penguins, sharks, butterflies, and more. There's also an IMAX theater and even a high-speed catamaran called the River Gorge Explorer.

Just six miles south of Chattanooga is Rock City Gardens.  Here, you will find a 4,100 foot walking trail featuring rocks, caves, and gardens.  Rumor has it that you can actually see seven states from the Lover's Leap lookout!

There's honestly so much more to do that I'm not even sure which things to write about!  There's the zoo, the river park (which was really neat), shopping, and so much more!  For more information, visit chattanoogafun.com.

New blog feature: monthly travel ideas!

The name Wanderlust Home & Gifts came from my love of travel.  I'm constantly craving a new destination, new things to see, great places to shop.  If I had the money, I would be a total gypsy.  So, this morning when I was thinking about the next place I want to visit (Sanibel, FL), I thought "AHA! maybe I should start blogging about a different destination each month!"

So in the first week of each month, I will feature a new location complete with ideas on places to see, stay, and eat!  You, my friends, are my perfect excuse to do research on my favorite topic - TRAVELING!  The places you will  see may be places I've been personallly, places I've always wanted to go, or places you recommend!

The first destination I'll feature is Charleston, SC.  Look for it either later tonight, or tomorrow!  And if you have ideas on future destinations, leave a comment and let me know!

xoxo,
Amy :)
